Hylaian marsh bamboo was a bamboo plant from the Hylaia system in the Inner Rim. The plant was grown in the Room of a Thousand Fountains, a greenhouse at the base of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. In 19 BBY, following the destruction of the Jedi Order, the Temple was occupied by clone troopers who were tasked with cleaning up and identifying the many Jedi corpses.

In the Room of a Thousand Fountains, one clone spotted movement behind a stand of Hylaian marsh bamboo and ordered the perpetrator to remain still. The figure ran out of the room and the clone directed his squadmates to pursue it. However, the moving figure had actually been a illusion by the Jedi Masters Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda, who were then able to enter the freshly unoccupied room and continue their investigation into the Jedi deaths.
