Kru-kru

Kru-kru was a type of crop found on the swamp planet Safrifa. The crop could be grown in floating beds constructed from mud and vegetation, which would keep the kru-kru's roots from becoming waterlogged with marshwater. During the High Republic Era, Safrifan swamp farmers cultivated it in large farms stretching many kilometers, kept a series of plots framed by willow trestles, and surrounded by a canal network.

In 231 BBY, the mercenary Ty Yorrick visited one of Safrifa's kru-kru farms, trudging through a portion of it. She was impressed with the Safrifans' cultivation of land she felt was hard to make fertile, mentally commending them for their ingenuity.
