The singing fern was native to the marshy Agrilat Region of the Core Worlds planet Corellia. The fern was a crystal plant, meaning that, as with most plant species in the Agrilat Region, it was composed of a mixture of dense, hard silica and organic materials, which gave it a crystalline appearance. Singing ferns both absorbed light and glowed softly.
