Stygium was a material used in cloaking devices. The cloaking devices of TIE/ph "phantom" was based on stygium, and the cloaking technology of the Carrion Spike, the personal corvette of Moff Wilhuff Tarkin, and the Sith Lord Darth Maul's heavily modified Star Courier Scimitar ran on stygium crystals.
