Wasaka plant

The wasaka plant was a stemmed plant that could be found at the Yarvellian Institute medcenter on Protobranch during the High Republic Era. After the Nihil Minister of Advancement Baron Boolan arrived at the medcenter delivering a supposed cure for the Blight, the Anacondan doctor Gino'le tested the experimental treatment on a wasaka plant infected with the Blight. Boolan's treatment showed immediate halting of the blight and signs of regeneration. Amazed, Dr. Gino'le prepared to administer the cure to sentient beings. Soon, however, laboratory staff noticed that after some time had passed, the Blight returned to the plant worse than before. They communicated this to the Sephi Tey Sirrek, who attempted to relay the information to Jedi Master Keeve Trennis before a computer virus corrupted the facility's internal systems, including comms. The wasaka plant shared its name with the wasaka berry of Kashyyyk, a planet afflicted by the Blight.
