Honor Lost on Lasan: Serving the Empire, Fighting for the Alliance
Canon Linked from 1 article
Honor Lost on Lasan: Serving the Empire, Fighting for the Alliance was the memoir of Alexsandr Kallus, a member of the Galactic Empire who defected to the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. Written after Kallus retired to the planet Lira San following the end of the war in 5 ABY, it reflected on his military service and both factions, narrating how he had come to realize the extent of the Empire's evils. The title alluded to his part in the Siege of Lasan in 7 BBY, in which a genocide was committed against the Lasat occupants of the planet Lasan.
Some worlds worked Kallus's narration of the Empire's evils in the memoir into their education systems to help teach the next generation about the war. In 35 ABY, the historian Beaumont Kin mentioned the memoir in his book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire, calling Kallus's work reflective, honest, and surprisingly moving.
