Alderaanian consular security

Alderaanian consular security was the security force present on Alderaan and on its consular vessels, responsible for guarding and escorting senators and other dignitaries. Its members were known as Alderaanian Fleet Troopers. When the Viceroy Bail Organa became a leading member in the Alliance to Restore the Republic, these forces also played a part in fighting the Galactic Empire.

Due to its simplicity, the consular security uniform was also used as the apparel for many Rebel troopers after Rebel commanders recognized the advantages of establishing a standard outfit for the Alliance Army. Rebel troopers who donned such gear were identified as Fleet Troopers. These troopers were ready to deploy at a moment's notice, entering combat on battlefields or starships alike. Amongst the Rebels who used the uniform were those stationed at the Rebel headquarters on the moon Yavin 4 and many who fought in the operations on Tatooine. The uniform was still being used by Rebel troopers during the time of the Battle of Endor and later Battle of Theed, which occurred at a time when the Rebellion was transforming into the New Republic, making its Rebel troopers into New Republic soldiers.
