Chosen (Nuso Esva)

The Chosen were a group of Storm-hair elite warriors that served their master, Storm-hair Warlord Nuso Esva, with fanatical zeal since they emerged from an unidentified Unknown Regions world. Esva's warriors, under their master's lead, destroyed dozens of worlds, peoples, and governments until around 0 ABY, when Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo of the Galactic Empire struck back.

In that year, the Storm-hair warlord sent a squadron of more than thirty Chosen to the Outer Rim Territories Candoras sector, where Chosen member Ranquiv directed an operation to murder Candoras' Governor Bidor Ferrouz. Attacking Ferrouz while Esva brought the Rebel Alliance to Candoras' Poln system would, according to the warlord, draw Thrawn to the Poln system, where Esva's Eastern Fleet would destroy him. Ranquiv's forces divided, with thirty going to Poln Minor and the rest to Poln Major. On Poln Minor, the Chosen armed fifty Whisperlike fighter with heavy weaponry while on Poln Major, they attacked Ferrouz along with several thugs. However, the Rebel Luke Skywalker, Hand of Judgment stormtrooper group, Thrawn's Troukree agents, and Emperor's Hand Mara Jade fended off the Chosen's attacks and located where they were holding Ferrouz's family. There, Skywalker and Jade killed the Chosen and freed the hostages while Thrawn's forces and the Imperial Death Squadron defeated Esva's Eastern Fleet and Ranquiv's starfighters. Esva and the Chosen retreated, but they continued their rampage across the galaxy.

In 8 ABY, thirty Chosen and Esva traveled to the Unknown Regions planet Quethold, where the native Quesoth people assisted the warlord in, once again, drawing Thrawn to his defeat. The Quesoth Soldiers and the Storm-hairs attacked the invading ground forces, but when Thrawn gave a command in Quesoth Soldier Speak to the Quesoth, Esva killed the Quesoth ruler, prompting the Quesoth Soldiers to kill him while Thrawn's Empire of the Hand stormtroopers took care of the remaining Chosen.
