The Church of the Dark Side was a religious organization devoted to the worship of the Dark Side of the Force that came into prominence during the Imperial Era and was sanctioned by the Galactic Empire. Secretly, the Church of the Dark Side was just a undercover propaganda division of the Imperial Intelligence in mockery of the Prophets of the Dark Side, a dark side cult as part of a elaborate ploy in order to tighten their grip over the Imperial populace.
