Combat engineer (Techno Union)

Combat engineers, also known as Skakoan combat engineers, were exceptional Skakoan engineers deployed by the Techno Union, who were affiliated with the Confederacy of Independent Systems, during the Clone Wars. Equipped with modified pressure suits, these Skakoans were proficient fighters and, like the Techno Union's commandos, could be packed into Shekelesh-class freight gunships and Hardcell-class interstellar transports. They were trained in weaponry but were also skilled technicians, and their role would help clear battlefields for commandos. Combat engineers were not commonly seen in the Confederacy military around the start of the war. However, over time the Separatist Senate convinced many to join the engineers and other corporate security forces, and by the Outer Rim Sieges were more often seen in combat. Because of their methane-filled pressure suits, each soldier could be a living bomb, potentially triggering once shot. In 19 BBY, an entry on the Combat engineers was written by ARC trooper Muzzle and published in the survival compendium "Neyo's Almanac of Clankers."
