Direct action operative

Direct action operatives, also colloquially known as rangers, were the non-clone agents of Republic Intelligence during the Clone Wars. Matese and his team were recruited due to their experience in the Judicial Forces. Matese's team of rangers was assembled by Lieutenant Commander Orson Callan Krennic for the mission to Merj, during which the rangers kidnapped two Separatist Morseerian scientists. The two Morseerians were used as an exchange for Galen Walton Erso and his family.
