The Ministry of Protection, also known as the Protection Ministry, or as the Nihil military, was an organization established by the Eye of the Nihil Marchion Ro. It was led by the Minister of Protection, a Mirialan called Abediah Viess, who had a century's worth of experience as a mercenary general. According to the rules of the Protection Ministry, the right to claim ownership of a lightsaber went to whoever delivered the fatal blow to its previous owner, unless Viess or Ro took the weapon for themselves. The organisation and its leader were also responsible for security matters onboard the Lightning Crash, a space station that the Nihil utilised to manage the Stormwall.
