Channel 1

Channel 1 (Channel One) was a HoloNet channel reserved for use by the New Republic government.

In times of emergency or special announcement, the Ruling Council, the President or Fleet High Command could activate Channel 1 and send their message over all HoloNet nodes and channels, covering any regularly scheduled programming.

Nil Spaar successfully had Yevetha hack into Channel 1's signal and broadcast a speech across all of the New Republic warning aggressors to hold off as well as denounce President Leia Organa Solo, or else a war would begin. The second-shift supervisor Turat Il Feen could not stop the signal from being pirated and left his station in horror, realizing he might become a grid installer afterward.
