Chroma-wing

Chroma-wings were the final life stage of the Ruurian sentient species. At an advanced age, Ruurians would shed their larval forms and spin a cocoon around themselves, transforming into beautiful chroma-wings whose sole desires were eating, mating, and flying along the riverbanks of Ruuria. Although the Ruurians considered the transformation to be paradise, it was possible for them to prevent themselves from becoming chroma-wings through ointments, prescriptions, and special treatments. Ruurians could also receive cybernetic augmentations as larvae order to retain their memories as a chroma-wing. The Ruurian doctor Woolif received such augmentations in order to keep his medical knowledge after becoming a chroma-wing. Slyyth was a Ruurian criminal who feared becoming a chroma-wing, wishing to continue his work, and he thus took treatment to prevent the transformation.
