Commissars of Grizmallt

The Commissars of Grizmallt were a shipbuilding organisation loyal to the Galactic Republic that shared their name with the planet Grizmallt. Following the Republic's use of vessels manufactured secretly in the shipyards of Kuat Drive Yards during the First Battle of Geonosis in 22 BBY, the Commissars ordered countless industrial spies and starship designers to reduce their competitor's competitive lead for the Republic's new contracts as the Clone Wars began. The Arch-Provost of Rendili–another competitor to the Commissars–did similar, and due to Rendili's extensive system of smaller shipyards across the Mid and Outer Rim, they had a strong advantage with the potential to grant them temporary ascendancy.
