CryoBan

CryoBan, also stylized Cryoban, was a chemical agent that absorbed heat quickly, creating intense cold at the point of detonation. The agent was originally developed as a fire suppressant, and it broke down quickly, releasing the heat back into the environment.

Organic beings exposed to CryoBan experienced numbing cold, which stunned them and caused severe nerve and cellular damage to any exposed skin. The areas could be treated with bacta, but unless it was immediately applied, the individual was likely to lose a limb or suffer nerve damage.

CryoBan was also effective at destroying electronics, vehicles, and droids if they were not sufficiently adapted to operate in cold-weather environments.

Weapons technology using CryoBan used elements adapted from the carbon-freezing process to freeze targets. Weapons made using this technology included CryoBan rifles, CryoBan grenades and CryoBan cells.
