Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

Dathomir's Vitality was a quadrant of space in the Dathomir system. It contained the dangerous red-pulsating nebula known as the Heart of Dathomir. It was believed by the adepts of the Dark Veil Order that a powerful rage existed within the living nebula. Its power was held to be so great that only the sacrifice of sentient beings could calm its rage. Pilots of the Dark Veil Order controlled Dathomir's Vitality and ambushed starships moving through the quadrant in order to sacrifice the captured beings to the Heart of Dathomir.
