Gunsmith

A gunsmith was an individual skilled with crafting and installing weapons such as blaster rifles and blaster cannons. By 3 ABY, the Ashiga Clan, a criminal syndicate that ran the Mid Rim planet Kijimi, had earned a reputation as excellent gunsmiths. The Ugnaught smuggler Jet Kordo considered their blaster rifles to be the finest produced in the galaxy, a fact he mentioned in an audio entry of his journal.

That year, a Sullustan freelancer and a Trandoshan spacer had been hired by Bib Fortuna, the majordomo to the crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure, to install blaster cannons on Jabba's sail barge, the Khetanna. After the work was finished but before they informed Fortuna, the Sullustan talked with the Trandoshan about the work while they were seated at an outside table in the Tatooine city Bestine. During the conversation, the Sullustan expressed reservation about their work on the blasters since the pair were not in fact gunsmiths.
