An ion charge was a missile-type that carried an ion payload used to breach and disable enemy defensive systems.

Aphra and Darth Vader utilized an ion charge during their assault on Cylo's base. Their ion charge, launched by Aphra from Vader's J-type 327 Nubian, caused an ion blast in the base's control room, rendering circuits, doors and communications inoperative.
