The Justice Department was a subsidiary of the Judicial Department on Coruscant. Adjutant General Wilhuff Tarkin recommended that the Justice Department drop all of Galen Erso's charges of espionage and treason, which took three months for his superiors to sign off on. Erso was allowed to leave Coruscant once the countermanding was approved with his travel ban being rescinded, traveling to Lokori to take up his new research position and job offered by Helical HyperCom.
