The Kaarenth Impalers originally were the adamantly faithful protectors of the Paecian Empire. Millennia after its collapse, the title was reused by Palpatine, founder and head of the Galactic Empire. Palpatine dubbed Ennix Devian his personal "Karenth Impaler," tasking him with hunting down anyone he perceived as betraying their oath to him.
