Landing shackle

A landing shackle, also known as a security shackle, was a durasteel security device that was affixed to a starship's landing gear at a spaceport to prevent it from launching. A landing shackle was used on the yacht Asaari Wind when it was berthed at Docking Pad P13 at the Palisade starport on Kabal. After the crew caused a commotion killing Tyro Viveca on his estate, the Asaari Wind attempted to leave the spaceport while the landing shackle was still attached. Initially, the craft's repulsorlifts were not enough break the landing shackle's grip. Once the ship's sublight engines were engaged, the Asaari Wind broke free of the shackle but lost the landing gear the shackle was attached to alongside with structural girders, hull plates, and the entire aft repulsorlift unit.
