The military flash code was a simple code used by the Republic Military as means of sending short-burst transmissions, by utilizing characters in a set sequence in order to transmit information. For example, a dot equaled one, a dash equaled ten, and X equaled five.
In the year 3951 BBY, miners trapped at the Peragus Mining Facility modified a holo-transmitter into a crude relay that beamed a military flash code transmission containing the numerical sequence needed to activate the turbolift to the Dormitory level of the facility.
