The Omega Initiative was a fail-safe mechanism designed to systematically trigger the electrostatic charges implanted in the hearts of all the inmates in the Cog Hive Seven prison. In 33 BBY, Warden Sadiki Blirr launched this mechanism after the prison was attacked by Jabba the Hutt's forces. Most of the prison inmates perished as the result.
