Overlord was a rank of governor in the Galactic Empire. Ghorin, ruler of the Greater Plooriod Cluster, held the rank of overlord. The planet Demophon was also ruled by an Imperial Overlord during the Imperial Era. During the Galactic Civil War, Wilhuff Tarkin, Grand Moff of Oversector Outer, was also known as the Imperial Overlord of the Outer Rim.
