A para-wing glider or paraglider was a very light, single person, winged vehicle. It consisted of little more than a pair of wings and a repulsorlift engine, which could be attached to a pilot's back.

These gliders were used by tourists on Cloud City. They were modified with a radar beacon, comp-controlled navigational equipment and emergency thrusters, making the gliders slower and less maneuverable than their unmodified counterpart but safer for tourists to use.

The downtrodden of Coruscant's lower regions arranged para-wing races that utilized the tractor fields of the city's garbage pits.

The R-444 Imperial Sky Swooper used by the Galactic Empire was one well-known model of para-wing glider, alongside the ShadoWing-4 and ShadoWing-6 para-wing gliders most commonly used by civilian and by the Rebellion.
