Permlight

A permlight was a type of fixed lighting used to illuminate buildings, tunnels, and starships throughout the galaxy. Permlights were also often employed as emergency lighting and could continue functioning even when normal lighting systems were unavailable.

Emergency permlights were present aboard the Outbound Flight project, where their failure during a shipwide power disruption was considered highly unusual. Similar lights were also used in abandoned mining tunnels, where they continued operating long after the primary glow panels had ceased functioning.
