Pi-Lippa's relative

Legends Linked from 1 article

Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

The alien Pi-Lippa had a relative. Following Pi-Lippa's death in approximately 41 BBY, the relative purchased the enslaved Human Shmi Skywalker and her newborn son Anakin Skywalker as property from the inheritors of Pi-Lippa's estate. The relative did not want to grant Skywalker's freedom in spite of Pi-Lippa's intentions to do so. The Skywalkers were later sold as property to the Hutt crime lord Gardulla Besadii the Elder, and taken to the planet Tatooine, where Shmi was ultimately freed after being purchased by the moisture farmer Cliegg Lars.
