Quay novelty toy

Legends Canon version → Linked from 12 articles

Legends. This article is part of Legends: the expanded-universe stories that Lucasfilm set apart from canon in 2014.

The Quay novelty toy was a "pre-programmed prognosticator". Comprised of a white plastic sphere twenty-three centimeters in diameter, the toy contained a selection of stored generic answers on a voice chip. When asked a question, a reply was given in a loud voice. The Weequay species believed that the toy was a physical connection to the Moon God Quay, and would consider the answer as though it were of divine origin.

Three Quay novelty toys were collected by the Tynnan demolitions expert Dawson on the planet Kabal. One of the toys was repurposed by Dawson as a makeshift explosive device during the rescue of Cecil Noone from hunter Tyro Viveca; the resulting detonation killed Viveca and enabled Noone and his crew to escape.
