A sound chip was a recording device capable of storing and playing recorded sounds. A sound chip was once used by an individual to fake the presence of Breshig trill beast in a T-P-C4 Live Organism Comfort Conveyor aboard the luxury liner Alamintari. In reality, they were smuggling ten kilograms of Garcornian spice. Sound chips were also used inside Quay novelty toys, where they had a number of pre-recorded answers encoded onto them.
