Canon Legends version → Linked from 20 articles
A scepter was something often made out of gold and used at ceremonies.
On the planet Birren, scepters were used to welcome new supreme governors. They were used in conjunction with cloth-of-gold mantles. They were given to the supreme governor to symbolize that they would protect the people of Birren.
On Naboo, the royal scepter was passed from one monarch to another upon the inauguration of a new monarch.
