The royal scepter was a scepter passed by the reigning monarch of Naboo to the new monarch upon their inauguration. The act of passing the scepter symbolised the transfer of power from the incumbent monarch to their successor. In 28 BBY, Queen Padmé Amidala passed the scepter to her successor Réillata during her coronation at the Theed Royal Palace.
