Shield camouflage was a sensor-masking technology developed at Hosrel XI by the Centrality Navy. Though not as effective as a true cloaking device, it had its uses in areas of stellar disturbance like nebulae, where it blended a starship in with interstellar dust and gas. Unfortunately, the ship's regular defensive shielding needed to be deactivated for the system to function properly.
