Slug hunter

A slug hunter was an individual who hunted space slugs, large space-borne creatures that inhabited asteroid fields.

The hunters sought out the slugs due to the various industrial and cosmetic applications of space slug skin and organs. Slug hunters would explore asteroid fields for weeks on end in search of slugs to hunt. Once they located a target space slug, the hunters would typically venture into the creature's mouth and kill it using heavy blaster weapons such as the E-Web blaster.

On one occasion, a group of slug hunters targeted the intelligent space slug Turmok and entered its mouth dressed in armored space suits, intending to open fire with E-Web blasters and slay the slug. However, Turmok shut its mouth and shook the hunters to death, then proceeded to pull their starship inside its mouth too.
