A bodyguard escorted Chandrilan senator Mon Mothma to safety during her escape from the galactic capital Coruscant after an associate of fellow senator Bail Organa informed her that she was to be arrested for treason against the Galactic Empire. Mothma escaped the planet minutes before the arrival of Imperial Security Bureau agents. She began travelling across star systems to further the Rebel cause and, several months after her escape, signed the Corellian Treaty in 2 BBY, forming the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
