The X/ATM-44 thruster component was produced by Vokoff-Strood during the the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. Originally designed for Vokoff-Strood airspeeders, it was later adapted for use in starships to increase their maximum speed.
