Excavation Site 12 was an Imperial dig site operated by the Imperial Department of Military Research during 3 ABY on an island in Lake Amari on the Outer Rim planet Akiva. The goal of the site was to excavate a meteorite impact site and research the meteorite's material for potential military applications. A set of ruins were also preset on the island as such the Imperials collected a number of artifacts including a miniature spinning artifact believed to have been used in ceremonial dances. The site also contained a copy of the Imperial Security Bureau's report on the Zerek Besh leader Sliro Ruback.

During the same year, the scoundrel Kay Vess visited the island and stole a NL-02 Charge Emitter, the ISB report and the spinning artifact.
