A NL-02 charge emitter was a component used to make an electro-shock prod. By 3 ABY, the Galactic Empire had stored a charge emitter at their Excavation Site 12 on an island in Lake Amari on Akiva, a jungle planet in the Outer Rim Territories.

In 3 ABY, the scoundrel Kay Vess heard about the charge emitter at the Empire's camp. She later stole the device from the camp and used it to construct an electro-shock prod.
