Kessendra was a small military town located on the planet Kessel. The world's largest prisoner encampment, the Galactic Empire established an administrative center in Kessendra, making it Kessel's impromptu capital. Kessendra Stadium was located on the city's very edge. Several streets in Kessendra included Spice Mines Avenue and Slavelord Boulevard.
In the year 5 ABY, the Central Committee of Grand Moffs and Supreme Slavelord Trioculus used Kessendra as a staging ground for their attempted takeover of the Empire.
By 11 ABY, Kessendra was mostly abandoned, and the few residents remaining were evacuated by the New Republic.
