Pabu island, also simply known as Pabu, was a remote island located on the tropical planet of the same name. It was led by its mayor, Shep Hazard, and its inhabitants were mostly refugees from the Clone Wars. Although it had limited resources, Pabu provided a friendly atmosphere for refugees that was free of the presence of the Galactic Empire. Phee Genoa regarded it as her "home away from home."

The island experienced sea surges on occasion. As such, a large wall was built around Upper Pabu to protect it. However, after years, Pabu expanded into Lower Pabu as more inhabitants arrived.

Upper Pabu featured the Archium, which stored rescued artifacts from around the galaxy. It also housed the early warning system, which was used to alert the residents of a sea surge. Just outside the Archium was a large landing pad at the very top of the island.

At some point, there had not been a major sea surge in almost thirty years. However, that year, the island experienced a series of tremors, which led to a large surge. The surge damaged most of Lower Pabu; however, all of the residents escaped to the safety of Upper Pabu with the help of Clone Force 99.

Genoa and Clone Force 99 later attempted to build up the funds needed to restore Pabu. After a failed heist on Hosnian Prime, Tech and Genoa managed to access and siphon exorbitant amounts of money from Cellia Moten's accounts, both legal and otherwise, during their encounter on Tryth. The amount was enough to rebuild Pabu twice over.

Although Pabu was remote, Clone Force 99 was discovered there on multiple occasions. The Force-Sensitive Outcast Asajj Ventress found them there, wanting to test Omega's ability to connect with the Force. Later, the clone assassin CX-2 tracked the clones to Pabu after stealing data from the Genoa's starship, the Providence, and destroyed their ship, the Marauder. An Imperial division soon arrived to capture Omega, and, after laying waste to parts of the island community, captured the young clone and departed.

Following the fall of Tantiss Base, Pabu would cordially play host to all the liberated clone prisoners. Clone Force 99, with the exception of Echo, would permanently settle on Pabu.

At some point between 4 and 2 BBY, Omega decided to depart Pabu to join the Alliance to Restore the Republic as a pilot.
