A Rebel base was on Cardooine early in the Galactic Civil War. The starfighter unit Soaring Dactillions was assigned there at one time to test the A-wing prototype. It was assaulted by the Galactic Empire but the action was stymied by the actions of the tech expert Tendaar Bel. The Dactillions took heavy casualties in the battle.
