The Salvager camp was the headquarters of a loose association of salvagers came to Dantooine in order to explore the what was left of the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine after Darth Malak bombed it. These people recovered most of what was in the structure and sold them to make a profit, excluding the sublevel due to the presence of laigreks.
The salvagers here generally held beings with regular jobs in contempt, and would have been particularly pleased if the settlers had been driven off the planet.
