The Spike was a vast underground prison built in the rocky Aparian Wastes of the planet Serenno. Shaped like an inverted cone set deep within the ground, the facility was divided in ten levels, with the highest-security cells located at the lowest levels. At the time of the Clone Wars, the newly constructed Spike was used by the Confederacy of Independent Systems to hold high-profile prisoners and individuals whom Count Dooku wished to interrogate himself. A prison was also used in Castle Serenno for the same purpose.
