Alderaan's sun
Canon Linked from 11 articles
This star was orbited by the planet Alderaan, before the planet's destruction in 1 BBY. When the Death Star arrived in the system to destroy Alderaan, its massive shape eclipsed the sun, which was witnessed by Queen Breha Organa and her husband, Viceroy Bail Organa. From this, they realized that death was moments away.
