Bars Barka

Bars Barka was a planet located in the Bars Barka system, a part of the Barsa sector in the New Territories portion of the Mid Rim. It was linked via hyperlane to the Varvva system.

Several decades prior to the Clone Wars, Bars Barka had been settled by members of the Ubese species, which was native to the Uba system world Uba IV. Around that time, a Neimoidian trade delegation visited Bars Barka. Afterward, the deadly disease known as the Intestinal Revenge of Bars Barka swept the planet, causing crippling weight loss among its population. That fact was later noted by the author Ebenn Q3 Baobab in the 6 ABY edition of his book the Galactic Phrase Book & Travel Guide, by which time it was believed that the outbreak had been caused by microbes normally found in the Neimoidian body. Between 12 ABY and 13 ABY, Bars Barka fell within the borders of the New Republic.
