Chasmeene
Canon Linked from 5 articles
Chasmeene was a planet that was punished for failing to meet Imperial quotas by the irradiation of vast swaths of its farmland. As a result, it was stricken by famine for years. In 3 BBY, Princess Leia Organa of Alderaan undertook a relief mission to the planet and brought food, seeds, and agricultural equipment. She instructed R2-D2 to collect scans of the planet to prove its devastation was the Empire's fault. The droid also collected additional data to back up the scans taken, which Organa transferred to several datacards.
