Jiaan was a planet located in the Jiaan system in the Mid Rim's Almak sector. During the early years of the New Order—which was established in 19 BBY—Jiaan was one of many planets that was subjugated and decimated by the forces of the Galactic Empire, targeted after Jedi Knight Tyneir Renz—a Human native of the planet—escaped the Great Jedi Purge. Renz's wife and son were killed in the razing of Jiaan, though he managed to save his daughter, Padija Anjeri.
