Karthon

Karthon was a prison moon located in the Zuma sector of the Outer Rim Territories. Situated at the coordinates H-16 on the Standard Galactic Grid, it was connected by hyperspace route to the astronomical objects Rattatak and Necropolis. During the Galactic Civil War between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance, Karthon contributed materials towards the Empire's Death Star II superweapon.

After the war, the victorious New Republic, the Alliance's successor, used the scrapyard known as the Karthon Chop Fields a correctional facility, where former Imperial machinery would be dismantled by inmates. N5 sentry droids were deployed as prison guards by the New Republic Correctional Corps there. In 9 ABY, Migs Mayfeld, an inmate who had been sentenced to fifty years at the Karthon Chop Fields for his involvement in the breakout of a prisoner and the death of the corrections officer Lant Davan, was relinquished into the care of Marshal Cara Dune to assist them in locating of Moff Gideon's light cruiser.
