Messert was a celestial body located in the Messert system, a part of the Kashyyyk Region's Mytaranor sector in the Slice portion of the Mid Rim. The hyperlane known as the Randon Run linked it to the Chamble and Randon systems. Messert was a financial hub of the sector, and loans from it financed several mining, industrial, and agricultural ventures in the Kashyyyk Region. The astronomical object shared its name with the offworld company Messert Mines Corporation.
