Mikaster III was a terrestrial celestial body located in the Mikaster system, a part of the Mikaster sector in the Trailing Sectors portion of the Expansion Region. During the Clone Wars, the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems fought a battle on Mikaster III. During the engagement, Confederate octuptarra combat tri-droids picked their way through rubble, deploying a nanovirus-based bioweapon that shrouded them in veils of acidic vapor and targeted the Republic's clone troopers, to whom the weapon was lethal.
